It is exciting to see how this series of works intermingles my favorite color, blue, with the view of nature that relieves me of stress. I really enjoy the process of transforming abstract nature into figurative shapes and colors. The colors and shapes of nature are different for everyone, so I want to express nature in a creative way. For me the clouds in the sky are fluid, the iceberg are tall but broken, and the sea is wide. I want the public to look at my jewelry pieces as if they were seeing beauty in nature. But in the process of investigating blue and nature, I found that both have more possibilities waiting for me to explore.
The biggest surprise for me in the process of creation is the material of resin, which can be combined with various materials and then produce many interesting and unexpected things. Shell pieces, cotton, wool felt, paint, fabric, tinfoil, colorful burned foil and so on. were all materials that I tried to combine with resin this time. But I know this is not enough, there are still more materials for me to discover and try. When I was creating, besides the surprise, I also found that I needed to make improvements. That is my 3D modeling skills. I hope that the partial effect of my work is like a sphere as a 3D three-dimensional, but in the end I can only achieve a more flat container. I realized that I need to spend more time and effort on learning 3d modeling techniques, which will be beneficial in the future to create works that are more in line with my own design ideas.
Blue is a "sad" color, and I paint blue to let out my negative emotions when I feel depressed. But the combination of nature and blue has healed me. Whenever I was in a state of extreme depression, I would go into nature and relax myself. Then I started to think, what if one day I feel sad but I can't go into nature? Then I will create nature. The process of creation is a process of releasing negative emotions and healing the soul. And the final product can be hung in your home to enjoy or to help relieve stress. Once we recognize the worries of life, we appreciate beauty more. If we shed tears because of a beautiful piece of artwork, it is not because of how sad that piece is, but because of how beautiful that piece is. The beauty of nature is incomparable to anything else. And I also believe that many people choose to go into nature as a way to relieve their mood when they feel nervous. I hope that people who wear the jewelry I create will be in a good mood every day. Not only this collection, but also my future jewelry pieces, whether they are related to nature and blue or not, I hope they will help more people who are in a bad state of mind to relieve their mental and psychological stress.

Hey Vicky,
I love how you have branched out with adding a bit more colour. The names of the pieces also go quite nicely with the imagery and add more to the pieces! I also like that you have photographed each piece on different colour backgrounds to play with the transparency! I would love to see you work in a smaller scale and possibly make pieces that were earrings or a ring or necklace! Great job this semester!
