Working Methodology of the Artists - Yves Klein

French artist chiefly noted for his blue monochrome paintings and for his audacious experiments with new techniques and new attitudes to art. Began to paint in the late 1940s and formulated his first monochrome theories. Began in 1957 to experiment with fire paintings and 'immaterial zones of sensibility', and in 1958 with 'Anthropométries' made by a nude model pressing herself against the canvas under his direction.

1. In his painting: Blue Monochrome(1961) “All colours arouse specific ideas, while blue suggests at most the sea and the sky; and they, after all, are in actual, visible nature what is most abstract.” And the materials he used are dry pigment and synthetic resin on gauze mounted on panel. Then, used brush to spread the "mixture"evenly on the canvas.

2. Another painting: Planetary Relief "Région de Grenoble”(1961) Textures in tis painting like part of nature(sea, rock…) And the materials he used still are dry pigment and synthetic resin on plaster mounted on panel. And then, he

used the plaster to make the pattern and serve as the base of the work, then spray the paint evenly on the plaster with an airbrush.

3. The working methodology of his performance art: Anthropométrie(1960) Nude females in these works as both “living brushes” and “pure colour” - Blue paint covered models' breasts, stomach and thighs, and then the model in rolling and

across a sheet of paper. To Klein, it was an anthropometric symbol that served as the pure canon of human proportion.

New Ideas - inspired by Yves Klein

1. Blue Monochrome(1961)

The sea, the sky, the cold (snowflakes, glaciers...) comes to my mind when we say “blue". "Blue" makes me feel calm, endless, sad…

"Blue" is a single colour, but it is also colourful, because blue can include dark blue, light blue, ultramarine, navy blue... So I am thinking about whether I can use different shades of blue in my works to represent different natural environments and emotions.

2. Planetary Relief "Région de Grenoble”(1961) The potholes and grooves in the painting are like nature's steep rocks, or like a clouded sky. Blue gives me the feeling of infinity, so it's like I'm really under the sky.

Different textures and lines allow us to "create" different kinds of nature - continuous curves are waves, broken irregular lines are rocks... Therefore, I also hope to show different natural scenery by changing the textures in my jewelry works.

3. Performance art: Anthropométrie(1960) The lines created by nature are fluency, perfection and the beauty of randomness. The human body is also a part of nature. Therefore, through the creation method of this work, I am thinking about whether I can express the natural lines of human body in my jewelry works. Maybe it's like casting a model of a human body part out of plaster and resin or printing the shape of the palm onto the clay.

Working Methodology of the artists - Lily Kanellopoulou

In her Jewelry pieces, series of "Healing" attract me most. After she suffered the effects of a great family loss, she decided to start making jewelry to heal herself. This is why she named her jewelry series “Healing". Initially, she coloured her pieces black. Gradually, though, as layer of colour were added to them on purpose. At last, the darkness disappear. These three works used same materials: Resin, pigment, silver, bronze, stainless steel("Healing" series) - Resin and metal were a symbolic choice. Resin is a synthetic, chemical material while metal is the natural one.

Work Methodology - It is made out epoxy resin combined with fragments of woods, and then she added the metal element to finish the composition.

Colour, lines and fragments of the original starting pieces were used to give movement and different energy to the pieces, give them life.

The appearance of the "Healing" series of works looks extremely "rock", and it is full of the beauty of nature.

In her works, she not only maintains the beauty of nature's free appearance, but also possesses reasonable composition and colour matching that people have formulated through rational thinking.
